What contractors in Louisville & Kentucky are up against
Kentucky is a strong state for licensed trades on Google because so much licensing happens at the state level. The Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction licenses plumbers, electricians and HVAC contractors, issues plumbing and HVAC permits, and in 2011 Kentucky became the first state to run statewide HVAC permitting and inspections. A contractor whose license, permits and Google profile all match is easy for owners and for Google's screening to trust.
The ground and the weather do the rest. About half the state sits on karst, where sinkholes flood and collapse, Louisville is still rebuilding its combined sewers under a federal consent decree, and the May 2025 tornado that touched down near Russell Springs tore through the south end of Somerset. We plan Louisville, the Bluegrass towns and the lake country as separate markets.

What we run
Advanced LSA Max first, then the channels around it
Local Services Ads put a contractor at the top of Google with the Google Verified badge, and the Google Business Profile is where those ads draw reviews and business details from. That is why the profile, the directories and call tracking are part of the package rather than add-ons.
- Advanced LSA Max
Local Services Ads and Performance Max, Google Business Profile management, directory set-up and call tracking with ROAS, run as one system.
Starts at $2,199/month plus ad spend.
- Google Business Profile management

- Search engine optimization
Service and location pages built to rank for the jobs you want, not just your company name.
- AI search visibility
Answer and generative engine optimization so AI search tools can find and cite your business.
- Content development
Articles and guides that answer the questions homeowners ask before they call.
Questions
Contractor marketing in Louisville & Kentucky, answered
- Does Real Time Marketing work with contractors in Kentucky?
- Yes. We run Local Services Ads, Google Business Profile management, SEO and AI search visibility for home service contractors in Louisville, Somerset, Danville, Shelbyville, the Lake Cumberland region and the rest of Kentucky, with service areas built around the counties your crews serve.
- Do Kentucky contractors need a state license to run Local Services Ads?
- For plumbing, HVAC and electrical work, yes. Kentucky's Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction licenses master and journeyman plumbers, HVAC contractors, electricians and electrical contractors. Google's screening checks business licenses at the state level, so the license and business name should match.
- How does karst affect contractors in Kentucky?
- It creates work and risk. The Kentucky Geological Survey says cover-collapse sinkholes and sinkhole flooding cause the most damage to buildings, and radon can collect in basements and crawl spaces on karst. Plumbers, foundation, drainage and radon contractors all see demand from it.
- How should a Kentucky contractor set a Local Services Ads service area?
- Around the counties your crews can reach in a working day. A Louisville shop and a Somerset shop face very different drive times, and Google says missed calls may negatively affect responsiveness, so we build service areas around where you can answer and show up.
- What does Advanced LSA Max include for a Kentucky contractor?
- Advanced LSA Max combines four parts: local directory set-up and Google Business Profile optimization, ongoing Google Business Profile management, Local Services Ads plus Performance Max management, and lead call tracking with ROAS attribution. In Kentucky we plan each part around state licensing, storm season and the counties you serve.
