President, Real Time Marketing
Fifteen years turning brand presence into measurable business results: a decade of it in fashion and entertainment, the last six building the Local Services Ads and Google Business Profile practices that home-services companies come to Real Time Marketing for.
The role
As President, Courtlyn holds both the strategic direction and the day-to-day operational oversight of the organisation, involved in the broader vision and in the detail of how the business actually runs, rather than leading from a distance.
How she leads
Leadership from a distance produces strategy nobody can execute. She stays connected to what teams are actually doing across departments, which is what keeps the direction honest and the decisions practical.
Clear expectations, consistent communication, and issues addressed openly rather than managed quietly. The same standard applies to clients, being straight with them is why many of them stay.
She asks teams to question established practice and is comfortable being questioned back. In a discipline that changes this fast, an unchallenged assumption is a liability.
Background
An unusual route into this industry, and the reason for a perspective few marketing leaders hold: she understands how influence and desirability get built at the top of fashion and entertainment, and how data and performance strategy turn that into revenue.
More than ten years working closely with a prominent fashion designer, owning brand positioning, public relations, media relations, creative direction and high-level relationship management, defining how the brand was presented to the public and the industry.
Joined Real Time Marketing as Director of Strategy, bringing a brand-and-perception discipline into an increasingly data-driven one, and connecting digital visibility directly to lead generation, conversion and revenue.
Grew Local Services Ads and Google Business Profile from foundational services into the agency's most relied-upon departments, the two disciplines home-services companies now come to Real Time Marketing for first.
Strategic direction and day-to-day operational oversight across the organisation, working across SEO, paid, local, content, web development, account management and sales rather than owning one lane.
Her view of the market
For a service business, visibility in local search is opportunity. Google Business Profile and Local Services Ads are not technical features; they are the touchpoints where a business is discovered, evaluated and chosen, often in the same minute.
Consumer behaviour, Google's products and new platforms are all moving. Visibility now means being present across several touchpoints, not holding a position on one list.
Her standing challenge to teams is to think past keyword rankings to the whole digital experience: because the way people discover a contractor is being rewritten, and conventional approaches will not carry over intact.
